  • Loss of changes

    Tony

I wonder if it would be possible to introduce a failsafe of some kind on closing down the text page? I'm thinking of the typical "you're about to close file without saving changes message" that Word and the like pop up. I have now managed to lose text 3 times on the current project between working far too late when the brain has part shut down and my cat parading across the keyboard.

    Thanks

    Re: Loss of changes

I've tested it here and it seems to work as intended. If you've not changed the text and hit 'Close' or the top-right close icon, the window closes with no prompt. If you have made a change you get a 'Text has changed' with three options: 'Apply changes' (does this, then closes), 'Abandon changes' (closes without saving) or 'Cancel' (keeps editor open). Am I missing something?

All seems to work as you say but I must confess I can't recall seeing this box in text before, though it's familiar enough on beams.

I'll just have to put it down to incipient senility and/or windows 8!!

      Thanks
