Plywood Flitch beams

Has anyone had experience with plywood in place of steel in flitch beams? and Tony is this something that can be integrated into the software

I'm not sure what you'd hope to achieve by doing this? The difference in strength between the plywood and flanking timbers would be minimal. Or am I missing something?
